While we are all getting excited thanks to newly announced VALORANT First Strike tournament among all others, next patch for VALORANT aims to change the dynamics from their very core and provide a better balancement.

Agent balancements are surely a thing, but this time we are seeing a serious nerf to Operator and shots done “on the move”. Developers noticed that the players were able to take extremely accurate shots just after landing following a jump, which was not supposed to happen with this much consistency. Especially the one-shot weapons like Operator, this was causing too much volatility in games without relatively little regard to overall skill. Now this is slowly changing. While all weapons are subject to inaccuracy mechanics change, Operator is getting a few extra nerfs specifically. These nerfs include price (4500 -> 5000), decreased scoped movement speed (76% -> 72%), more inaccuracy during movement, decreased firing rate (0.75 -> 0.6), increased instant equip time (0.3 -> 0.5), and decreased leg shot damage as the last one (127 -> 120).

Besides the jump land inaccuracy dynamics of weapons and Operator nerfs in general, we are seeing some changes for agents too. Omen’s Paranoia VFX is getting updated for better hitbox representation, Jett’s Blade Storm is getting nerfed around the rapidity and distance parameters, Viper is getting a strong buff to increase her reliability with doubled starting Fuel amount, lingering Snake Bite vulnerability debuff and Viper’s Pit casting/re-equipping speed. Reyna’s Empress fire rate and Brimstone’s Stim Beacon fire rate bonuses are both set to 15%.
