VALORANT First Strike For MENA Region Is Revealed
After a series of First Strike announcements by Riot Games in recent days, now we are seeing the next one on the line. Today’s announcement comes for MENA region.
Riot Games MENA announced the regional First Strike event, VALORANT Strike Arabia. The event will be taking place between November 1st and November 25th. Different than other regions’ events, MENA will have three Arab sub-regions in this event. The matches will be taking place between Sunday and Wednesday every week, and matches will be livestreamed in VALORANT Arabia’s Facebook, Youtube and Twitch channels for fans to watch.
The regions will be Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), North Africa, and Levant with Egypt. Each of these sub-regions will have their own $10,000 prize pool. The countries allowed to participate for each country is below.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
- UAE
- Bahrain
- Saudi Arabia
- Kuwait
- Qatar
- Oman
North Africa
- Morocco
- Tunisia
- Algeria
Levant with Egypt
- Lebanon
- Jordan
- Iraq
- Egypt
From each of these sub-regions, top three teams will qualify for the First Strike MENA tournament between December 3rd and 6th. Those teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket to determine a champion. This is clearly different than the 8-team single elimination format of other regions.
With such prestigious and large-scale events increasing in number throughout MENA region in recent years, we are likely to see many more of them eventually and maybe even great teams to remember alongside the ones from other parts of the world. This will definitely be exciting to witness.
