One of the most successful games of last decade developed by Grinding Gear Games, Path of Exile has announced its upcoming league Heist to launch on 18th of September. While the game is usually far from esports concept, the developers winked at the possibility especially with the Private Leagues content after their former racing events were well-received by the community. Private Leagues made it much easier for everyone, especially for community celebrities on Twitch, to arrange and organize their own races.

Nowadays these races and community events are almost a staple of this game’s ecosystem already and we began to see some serious races with prize pools. Last one, the Racing Gauntlet Event, took place in Harvest Hardcore SSF between 22th and 29th of August 2020. It was a very exciting race as the difficulty was maximized and we have watched many RIPs happening with even the best of the best.

Only a week after the announcement of Heist League, Grinding Gear Games is coming back with a race that offers biggest prize pool ever in Path of Exile’s history. Fan favorite streamer Zizaran and his event sponsor Shopify is joining forces to bring a total of $40,000 prize pool for participants. GGG is also supporting this huge event with tons of microtransaction (MTX) prizes. Shopify is also contributing with an extra $13,000 worth MTX prizes to put the cherry on top.

Distribution of prizes and race rules can be found in detail under the official announcement page. Race will be starting on launch of Heist League and main goal will be killing The Awakener on a fully watchstoned Atlas. Alongside this main goal, there are also the usual side quests to gain more prizes for various “first kill”s.
