Origen Is Rebranding To Astralis
Astralis is lately going through a “rebranding” period of teams under their flag, and their newest addition to this process has been Origen. From 2021 League European Championship and on, Origen will be playing under Astralis banner.
Co-Founder Jakob Lund Kristensen explains that this rebranding process is not just for the sake of visuals or name, but for a much larger purpose. We all know Astralis thanks to their incredible success in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Scene. The organization is aiming to spread the understanding and insight they have in CS:GO to other games they compete in. Kristensen also reminds everyone that their relationship with Origen also started as them being fans in the first place. Origen was founded by legendary Fnatic midlaner Enrique “xPeke” Cedeno Martinez in 2014, and he is announced as a shareholder for the upcoming period. Origen joined Astralis in 2018, though they kept their name and logo so far.
With this new era under Astralis flag, Kristensen tells that they are going to implement serious and fundamental changes to the way Origen exists and moves in the scene, aiming high to become a Worlds contender. With that said, he makes it clear that they are totally aware of the fact that this success is not expected quick. They are intending to take steps to success with respect to progress, one day at a time.
Last but not least, fans are receiving some good news too here. Kristensen does not give much details, but promises a whole new level of interaction for fans. New and upgraded content, merchandise will also follow this change as they are valuing their relationship with their fans immensely.
