One of the biggest partnerships in gaming industry throughout 2020 came right along before year ends. Mercedes-Benz is announced to become an official partner of Riot Games for Worlds 2020, and also for following All-Stars and Mid-Season Invitational.

This is not the first time we are seeing Mercedes-Benz as an official partner of League of Legends though. They have been there for League of Legends Pro League 2018 and on already. This time they wanted to extend the coverage boldly and they teamed up with Riot for the annual World Championship first. This collaboration will also see these two titans together in next year’s Mid-Season Invitational and the All-Stars events. Riot will be representing Mercedes-Benz like they do for all other sponsors, like in-game banners and advertisements across Summoner’s Rift during games. This feature will take place on 25th of September as the play-in stage begins.

Head of Global Esports Partnerships in Riot Games, Naz Aletaha also expressed her excitement as follows.

“As the first luxury automotive brand to embrace esports at a global scale, Mercedes-Benz has developed a deep understanding of the unrelenting passion fueling the game and the League of Legends esports community. Mercedes has been synonymous with excellence for nearly a century, and we are excited to combine our shared appetite for innovation to bring great sporting moments to the global League of Legends stage.”

Vice President of Marketing at Mercedes-Benz, Bettina Fetzer also commented on this partnership.

“We’ve been engaged with League of Legends on a regional level over the past few years, but we really felt that it was time to expand into the next level and engage with an even broader audience and support a community we’ve come to call family.”

Last but not least, with this high level partnership between Riot Games and Mercedes-Benz, the automotive pioneer will be the most notable presenting partner of the World Championship trophy ceremony. They will also be providing transportation for major League of Legends tournaments.
