Heroes Of The Storm was one of the most innovative MOBA attempts ever in gaming history, and Blizzard being behind the project hyped everyone up. Everyone was excited to see the next generation of MOBA scene, especially for taking the heat off of DotA and LoL. Unfortunately, things did not go really well for the game and its fans after Blizzard pulled the plug in recent years.

Fast-forwarding a couple years after that day of doom, and now we are again seeing some signs of life for the game. Die-hard fans of the game pushed with all they have to keep the game alive, and organizations noticed this effort despite the lack of solid support from Blizzard. Luckily for the fans, Blizzard at least kept improving the game and bringing new content while not stepping on the esports side.

The game was receiving regular patches, content and balancement updates every once in a while without a break. But today we are seeing a totally brand new addition to the game.

ARAM Mode is here.

First iteration of ARAM mode initially came up with DotA 1, where the host could enter the command during starting phase of game and it would force the game to take place only in middle lane with randomly selected heroes for everyone. Considered a classic brawl-style fun, this mode eventually became a “quick action” choice for many players. League of Legends also brought this mode as an addition to game some time later, but we could never truly see it in Heroes Of The Storm until now. We only had a Brawl mode with weekly challenges, but it had its own terms and rewards.

With this new and long-awaited ARAM mode in Heroes Of The Storm, players will be able to freely dash into arena without a single care and still be eligible to complete their daily quest and special event quests. There will be initially four one-lane maps in the pool, and no side quests. Teams will clash to destroy each other’s core like there is no tomorrow. Randomization of hero selection will still be same though. As match starts, every player must pick one out of three randomly selected heroes.

Alongside the new ARAM mode, this patch also includes reworks of D.Va and Gazlowe, slight Storm League changes and hero balancements. For the full patch notes, feel free to visit Blizzard’s official announcement page.

’89 model born-gamer, has a soft spot for good old fast-paced arcade taste. If has to make a choice between sword and fireball, draws out a rocket launcher.
