G2 Esports’ Insane VALORANT Streak Continues
G2 Esports has been showing crazy skills and teamplay ever since they stepped up to competitive VALORANT scene. While we are not being surprised to see one of world’s best teams having such successful streaks, things are getting out of control with G2 not losing even a single tournament.
Last weekend, BLAST VALORANT Twitch Invitational tournament witnessed the “clash of titans” in the scene. Four top-tier teams having a short but intense series of matches to claim the title, adrenaline was always on top level. We watched G2 Esports, Ninjas In Pyjamas, FunPlus Phoenix and Team Liquid as they have proven their strength in VALORANT multiple times so far.
Tournament took place in Double Elimination format with Best of 3 matches with the exception of grand final. Grand final was Best of 5, and as usual it always gets better and better for viewers. All matches except grand final was in “no mercy” fashion, as the scores were always 2–0. G2 and FunPlus Phoenix made their way right into winners’ finals while NiP and Liquid had to face each other in losers’ bracket first. Having beat Liquid in the first match, FunPlus Phoenix did it a second time after losing to G2 Esports in winners’ finals. Going up for a revenge in grand finals, they put all they had into the Bo5 series but G2 Esports managed to push them off the edge eventually after a thrilling run.
Yet again, G2 Esports managed to raise the cup and grab the €25,000 grand prize for themselves. They look unstoppable at the moment and we are wondering who will put an end to this crazy streak. And when, of course.
