Escape From Tarkov 0.12.7 Patch Is Huge
Recently popularised by streamers and adopted by a large fan base all around the world, Escape From Tarkov is actually older than many people think. Entering to the closed beta stage in 2017, one of the most hardcore FPS games of all times developed by the Battlestate Games is ever-growing in a very stable pace. Latest installment of this growth is the 0.12.7 patch that went live on 27th of July, 2020. Coming up with long-waited Customs expansion alongside the new Scav boss Sanitar, this patch is totally a fresh breath for players.
To start, Customs map expansion is absolutely gigantic. We will have to forget all our memories related with years of Customs raids as this new state of the map is simply changing everything. New industrial area, many buildings with underground passages, sniper nest that threats players who tread the outdoors zone, heavy armaments in buildings that can turn the tide of whole raid and many more surprises are waiting Escapers in this new and dangerous Customs map.
Customs is not the only map that gets a nice touch, as Shoreline is the home of our new scav boss, Sanitar. A “doctor went rogue”, he is able to heal both himself and his friends quickly. Also using stimulants and medications in combat, Sanitar will pose a real threat unless the players can take him down quick.
We are also seeing two new weapons in this patch, FN GL40 Grenade Launcher and Mossberg 590A1 Shotgun. Grenade launcher was a promise that community indirectly received from developers long ago, as there were related skills in the Skills tab of character screen. Finally we are seeing how it will be changing the tactics and strategy in the game with 40mm grenades flying around. The shotgun, on the other hand, is one of the most famous models which is featured practically everywhere. Movies, series, games, you name it. Mossberg 590A1 is surely not getting old, but we are getting impatient to see more shotgun action in Tarkov already.
Moving on to last batch of items that made their way into game, we have various ammo types besides the 40mm grenades like varieties of 9mm and .45ACP, 7.62x51mm M993 and .366 AP-M. Also a handful of new stimulants will be waiting for us to push the edge in most critical moments.
Developers are clearly working hard as the physical content is not the only part that sees serious changes. Upgraded AI behavior, optimized cheat detection system, new and reworked skills, quality of life (QoL) changes and many bugfixes are also going live with this new patch. Often being criticised by players for the relatively high price, Escape From Tarkov surely delivers the quality that price tag deserves with every new step.
