DreamHack Masters Announces The First Six Teams Confirmed

DreamHack Masters series is finally coming back for more competition before 2020 ends. The event is announced to be running from November 30 to December 6 in four regions Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania. Total prize pool is also stated as $250,000.

Six confirmed teams are from Europe and North america, four and two teams respectively. Confirmed European teams are Astralis, G2, Natus Vincere and Complexity. Confirmed North American contenders are Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid.

The distribution of teams, dates and prizes will be as following according to DreamHack website:

Europe

Prize Pool $150,000

  • Group Stage Nov 30 — Dec 3
  • 2 groups of 8 teams in BO3 double elimination
  • Top 4 teams of each group will advance to playoffs
  • Playoffs Dec 4 — Dec 6
  • Playoffs played in BO3 single elimination, while the final is BO5

North America

Prize Pool $70,000

  • Group Stage Nov 30 — Dec 4
  • 2 groups of 4 teams in BO3 double elimination
  • Top 2 teams of each group will advance to playoffs
  • Playoffs Dec 5 — Dec 6
  • Playoffs played in BO3 single elimination, while the final is BO5

Oceania

Prize Pool $15,000

  • Playoffs Dec 1 — Dec 6
  • 1 group of 4 teams in BO3 double elimination
  • BO5 finals with a 1–0 advantage to the team coming from the upper-bracket

Asia

Prize Pool $15,000

  • Playoffs Dec 1 — Dec 6
  • 1 group of 4 teams in BO3 double elimination
  • BO5 finals with a 1–0 advantage to the team coming from the upper-bracket
